Aether Quickdraw

The Aether is a very light wire gate carabiner with a clean nose that eliminates snagging – it is suited to situations where there can be no compromise in weight, security or performance.  

It has a 7075-T6 hot forged, I-Beam body that is super lightweight – the complete carabiner only weighs 28g. The design of the carabiner also enhances safety with a steep top bar that drives loads towards to spine to ensure that the carabiner loads optimally.  

A secondary forging process that is unique to DMM creates a recess in the carabiner nose that houses the gate notch. This creates a smooth inner profile that prevents snagging on gear, ropes and slings. It also means the nose of the carabiner is wider than the gate, guarding against accidental gate opening caused by rubbing on rock.  

The carabiner has 8kN open gate and 21kN major axis strengths.  

When weight and performance are paramount, the Aether is the ideal carabiner.  

On one end of the carabiner is a Matt Grey coloured carabiner and the other end a Matt Black carabiner so that the two ends can be identified and racked correctly – this  is so that rope and hardware ends of the quickdraw are not interchanged.  

Mounted on a 11mm Dynatec Dyneema sling, the Aether quickdraw is for those who refuse to compromise between weight and security. Also available as alpine quickdraws with an 8mm 60cm Dynatec sling or a Blue Ice Alpine Runner.   

Assembly of the Aether carabiner certified to EN12275:2013/B and 11mm quickdraw sling certified to EN566:2017.
