Sterling PowerCord 5.9mm

Sterling Powercord takes PPE rated, kernmantle climbing accessory cords to the next level of performance with a strength of 19.9kN; this is more than double the 7.5-8.5kN normally seen on nylon/polyester 6mm accessory cords.

This is achieved by manufacturing the core from Technora (a branded para-aramid fibre by Teijin). This Technora core uses a nylon sheath to offer UV resistance to aramid fibres and give a more supple rope. This combination is not only far stronger than standard accessory cords but also offers greater resistance to heat damage, high resistance to chemical damage and a high resistance to abrasion and cutting.

This makes the Sterling Powercord a fantastic option for building strong, anchor systems from a compact and light rope – this is especially useful when working remotely or when having to carry the rope in the mountains or up multiple levels in high rise buildings.

A lot of work has been done by independent users to test the cord tied off in various configurations and as such is the benchmark product for a lot of rescue rigging.

Recommended life span is 10 years or 2 years of use.

The cord is CE certified to EN 564.
