Climbing Technology Piton Eye Sharp
The pointed tip on these two pitons allows them to cross the gap between larger blades and smaller lost arrows in soft rock – good for narrow cracks where you want more holding power than a blade can give.
These soft metal pitons are ideal for soft rock such as limestone as they are designed in such a way that that they deform to the irregularities in the crack - moulding itself into the rock for a secure hold.
The angled head of the piton applies torque under load to help maximise holding power. This means the Universal can be used for both horizontal and vertical cracks.
The 12 cm piton is certified as progression only (P) pitons and the 14 cm is certified as a Safety (S) piton.
