The Kong Panic is a climbing aid to reach distance connection points. It is a self-closing carabiner fitted with semi-rigid tubular webbing which features an inner flexible bar allowing the Panic to be held straight or slightly curved. 

 

The gate remains open until it meets the connection point. The mechanism released the gate upon contact and the connecter closes automatically. This mechanism also prevents accidental gate opening when it is under load.
