The Swift Protect Pro Dry 8.9 is a unique rope that uses aramid fibres in the sheath to make it as cut-resistant as a 10mm traditional rope.  

 

Aramid is a fantastic fibre with excellent cut and abrasion resistance but has very little stretch and so it is impressive that Edelrid have managed to create a fully dynamic rope that includes this fibre for the benefits it adds. It is testimony to the textile engineers at Edelrid that all the real life testing we have done and which we have read from other end users find that it handles and performs just like a standard full polyamide dynamic rope.

 

It is the perfect rope for minimising weight whilst maximising safety margins – especially when alpine climbing or anytime you’re climbing on particularly sharp rock.
