It force limits so that there is no need for a shock absorber in the system. Slow-pull testing shows the device first slipping at 4.5kN. It then slips back to 4kN /900lbsf and holds there for thirty seconds.
The helo lanyard is secured directly to the operator via a sit harness or attachment point of a rated riggers belt and then connection to the helo platform is via floor rings or removable anchor rings, using a double/triple action carabiner.
The emergency release mechanism is easily opened and closed even when wearing gloves and under a 150kg/330lb load under tension, secures the lanyard to the operator.
Adjustment of the lanyard can be made at the body which means the operator doesn’t need to turn away from their position. “Taking-in” can be done one-handed and extension is done with one hand and a hip movement.
