First-Aid Design Pyrana Quick Release Lanyard

First-Aid Design’s Pyrana is the first quick release lanyard that can both be released when heavily loaded and is also CE certified against EN 362:2004 Connectors.

The quick release is rated at 22kN and will still release when loaded with 150kg (330lbs). It is certified against EN 362 standard which is the European standard for locking connectors with an exemption for having to automatically close as closure is manual. The quick release has a dual action release mechanism for safety – move the red safety button to the unlocked position and then squeeze both triggers simultaneously to open the connector. These operations can be done by touch and in gloves.

The standard lanyard uses elasticated webbing with a width of 25mm. The lanyard has a strength of 22kN to match that of the QR connector and the system is certified to EN 354:2010 Lanyard.

A CE certified carabiner can be sewn into other end of the lanyard as required – a double action Kong Tango hook is the standard connector that is used.

Designed for ease of use, the Pyrana enables one-handed operation, simplifying the closing and locking process.

Available in three lengths, including 60cm, 90cm, and 120cm with bespoke lengths available on request.
