Saviour Tactical Stretcher

An all-purpose stretcher for use in confined space/restricted access rescue and hazardous environments providing carry, supported vertical haul and drag functions.

Weighing just under 5kg, the Saviour Tactical Stretcher comes supplied in either a roll top shoulder bag, or a rucksack style bag with colour coded straps for intuitive use without prior training. Once out of the bag the Saviour’s LDPE skin lays flat following a simple reverse bend at each end which facilitates easy patient loading unhindered by curled stretcher ends. 6 reinforced hand holds assist easier extended carries by 2 or 4 people and the LDPE skin can withstand heavy drags on all surfaces.

The stretcher wraps around the patient, and in doing so offers a level of splinting. The stretcher end is left open to allow for the use of a femoral traction splint. There is a unique head-hugger system that wraps around the head to protect it during evacuation and is designed to interlock with a cervical collar if one is used. Head-huggers can have optional earholes if required.

All materials are resistant to harsh environments and designed to survive heat, cold, salt, damp and sand and the entire stretcher is neutrally buoyant so will float if dropped into water. The stretcher is designed to be easily cleaned and infection control compliant. If however areas are damaged or soiled beyond repair, the stretcher has a comprehensive list of end-user replaceable spare parts allowing for cost effective multi-patient use.

The Saviour is fitted with one 200kg rated eye at the head end making it possible to conduct supported vertical hauling out of confined spaces or on ladders/ stairs or up embankments etc. (*Supported vertical hauling is defined as the stretcher is in contact with a supportive surface not in free space). The figure of eight at the feet and the cross straps at the chest, secure the patient when transporting.

Designed to fit inside all standard basket stretchers and airframe stretchers which allows the patient to stay in the Saviour throughout the journey to hospital. Once at the hospital, the Saviour is x-ray translucent and CT friendly meaning that the patient can go from point of injury to CT scanner on a single device.

Uniquely for this type of device, the Saviour Tactical can integrate with the LUCAS Mechanical Chest Compressor to allow for casualties receiving that intervention to be removed on a stretcher from technically difficult locations, or even simply down a set of domestic stairs.

In addition to the Saviour Tactical, which is supplied in a bag with the head hugger, there are 2 further optional accessories:

  • A pair of 1.5m short moving straps to aid extrications or moving in confined spaces
  • 6m looped drag harness to facilitate load rated ground dragging.
