The soft metal pitons are ideal for soft rock such as limestone as they are designed in such a way that that they deform to the irregularities in the crack - moulding itself into the rock for a secure hold.
The angled head of the piton applies torque under load to help maximise holding power. This means the Universal can be used for both horizontal and vertical cracks.
The 10 cm and 12 cm pitons are certified as progression only (P) pitons and the 15 cm is certified as a Safety (S) piton.
