PPE Inspection Training
We offer a range of RoSPA assured courses for users and inspectors of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), providing the knowledge and practical experience needed to demonstrate competence in PPE inspection, in accordance with the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations (PPER 1992) set out by the HSE.
Regulations
The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) states that employers must protect their workers whilst work. This means that they must provide PPE to employees who may be exposed to a risk to their health or safety whilst at work, except where and to the extent that such risk has been adequately controlled by other means which are equally more effective.
Employers
If a work based or activity risk assessment states that PPE is required to carry out certain activities to ensure the health and safety of that employee, then the employer must prepare and implement the provision of PPE. This includes the selection of appropriate PPE, the correct storage, maintenance, inspection regimes and replacement.
How Can We Help?
Our PPE courses provide the skills and knowledge to enable employees to meet their obligations under the PPE regulations of 1992, ensuring that:
- PPE is fit for purpose
- PPE is maintained and stored correctly
As well as our "student" level courses, we run a course specifically for managers or team leaders who may be responsible for ensuring that the H&S system around PPE are understood an applied effectively.
