Petzl Falcon Mountain and Top Full Body Harness System

The Petzl Falcon Mountain sit harness and Petzl Top chest harness combine to create a comfortable and supportive full body harness system.

The Falcon Mountain sit harness is rated to EN 813, EN 358 and EN 12277 type C , but when combined with the Petzl Top creates a fully body harness rated to EN 361. This is less bulky and gives much more freedom of movement and is lighter than a normal full-body harness system.

The Falcon comes in 2 variants; the Falcon Mountain and the Falcon – we have ranged the Mountain version which has a textile belay loop, but can also get the Falcon model which shows its industrial heritage and has a metal D ring as the ventral (front waist) connection point.

The reason we choose the Falcon Mountain is that the ventral attachment point is a textile bridge (belay loop), that enhances mobility and ensures comfort while walking. This design prioritizes both lightness and comfort, incorporating a slim, semi-rigid waistbelt and leg loops with 3D foam padding. This combination offers an optimal balance between low weight and comfort while minimising bulk. The DoubleBack self-locking buckles on the waistbelt, leg loops and chest facilitate quick and easy donning and adjustment. Additionally, the rear plastic buckle allows for the easy installation of the Top chest harness.  

The Petzl Top Chest Harness has foam shoulder straps that are widely spaced to prevent neck chafing and, when the waistbelt is loaded, help distribute the load evenly over the shoulders. The harness includes four equipment loops: two large, rigid ones at the front for easy access to gear, and two small, flexible ones at the back that do not interfere with wearing a backpack. It also features two slots for the Caritool tool holder.
