This category of harnesses is not ideal for operational tactical use because of their bulk, weight, restriction on movement and inability to integrate with operational equipment, but they do have a purpose for those operators needing to be suspended for extended periods of time. There are many models from different manufacturers of this type of harness that are available but the V8 Discovery Evo is well specified, made in Europe and tested to a higher standard than most; plus the price is competitive.
The V8 Discovery is engineered for all-day performance, it combines exceptional freedom of movement with multiple adjustment options to ensure a secure and tailored fit. The harness is also equipped with a comprehensive range of connection points; ventral sternal and dorsal plus side connection rings. In addition the V8 Discovery delivers good mobility and flexibility, enabling climbers and technicians to operate safely and efficiently in even the most demanding environments.
The buckles used on the harness are Cobra-Pro quick release buckles.
The webbing used on the harness is S-Guard Teflon whick has a Teflon PTFE coating to reduce water absorption and stop dirt ingress. The treatment increase performance and durability – the harness has a 10 year life.
All of the connection points use the Space Aero rings which are certified to ANSI Z359.12 and CSA Z259.12 and which have a 30kN MBS.
The harness is certified to EN 361, EN 813 and EN 358; full body fall arrest, industrial sit harness and restraint belt.
