A US (NFPA 2500/ANSI certified) 11mm very low stretch rope that uses a polyester core and sheath to give lower elongations than compared to a rope manufactured using nylon,
The Sterling 7/16ths / 11mm HTP static rope has an all polyester construction and a smooth 48-carrier sheath construction to superb durability, low elongation and suppleness.
The all polyester construction gives the rope low elongation and more consistent wet performance compared to a rope that uses nylon fibres. It is is also very resistant to chemicals, UV and abrasion.
It has great overall handling and is tough enough to withstand high intensity use. It is certified to NFPA 1983: Technical and ANSI Z133.
In the UK and EU this product can only be sold to military, police and government agencies because it does not have EN 1891 certification ( the polyester construction and resultant low stretch make passing EN 1891 very hard; this is an anomaly that is hopefully being addressed in the next issue odf EN 1891 that should allow lower elongation ropes to pass the test).
