The Sterling Oplux is a ground breaking rope that combines a Spectra (UHMWPE /“Dyneema” type fibre) core and a Technora/polyester sheath to provide excellent strength and resistance to cuts and abrasion, making it durable in harsh environments.
The use of lightweight fibres and an 8mm diameter results in a rope that is significantly lighter and less bulky than traditional ropes used for similar applications, allowing for easy packing and storage.
The core materials help the rope retain its strength and remain light even when wet, a key feature for search and rescue missions and other outdoor operations.
Due to its thin 8mm diameter, it requires specific hardware such as the AC Sulu X rope controller
