In detail
The 313 Yates Lightweight Assault Harness is one of two versions of the Lightweight Assault Harness; the 313 does not have contrasting structural stitching (i.e, black stitching on black webbing) whilst the 320USN version does have contrasting stitching. Thus whilst both have the same strengths and performance the 313 cannot be NFPA certified, whilst the 320USN is NFPA certified – this is because with the NFPA structural stitching needs to have a contrasting colour to aid visual safety inspections .
However for those wanting an all-black harness the 313 is the preferred option.
The Yates 313 Lightweight Assault Harness is a single size, durable, sit harness (a sit/waist harness is referred to as a Class II harness in the USA) with quick adjusting black camlock buckles on the waist and legs to allow for a perfect one size fits most solution.
The harness has a front D Ring as the primary attachment point for rappel and extraction situations - the D ring sits quite high and so helps reduce the risk of inversion when wearing a rucksack.
There is a single gear loop on the left side that allows equipment to be racked on the harness.
All hardware on the harness is plated or epoxy coated in a black colour.
We can also get the 320USN (US Navy approved) version with contrasting stitching that is NFPA certified if required.
